Inserting porous media into the micro-scale combustor space could enhance heat recirculation from flame zone, and thus extend flammability limits improve stability. In context of micro-combustors, pore size is comparable to characteristic length. It insufficient treat medium as a continuum with volume-averaged model (VAM). Therefore, pore-scale (PSM) developed consider detailed structure better understand coupling among gas mixture, wall. The results are systematically compared investigate difference in combustion characteristics stability limits. A quantified study undertaken examine recirculation, including preheating loss, micro-combustor using VAM PSM, which beneficial for understanding modeled differences temperature distribution. numerical indicate that PSM predicts scattered zone areas gives larger range, lower peak solid matrix temperature, higher wall Rp-hl than counterpart. parametric subsequently carried out effects thermal conductivity (ks) on VAM, then analyzed briefly. found specific configurations considered present study, more suitable simplifying ? smaller ks, methods can be applied other micro-combustors.
